"I have been creating a new series of paintings. They are emerging from a very abstract approach. Although the trees are still the subject in the painting there is so much energy running through out the painting process that the trees become the resting place for the eye. I have been happily lost in the forest for a few years now. I have finally stopped wondering when my subject might change. I have embraced the painting process and given into my instinctive approach and although the trees are still the underlying theme, the paintings feel like they have evolved into a new level of consciousness one I don't have any control of, one I don't wish to control.
